Chandubi is a natural lake located in the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council, Kamrup District of Assam. It is at a distance of 64 Kilometers from Guwahati City and 39 Kilometers from LGB International Airport, Guwahati.
A large lake and wetland, created by the devastating earthquake of 1897, the lake is at the base of Garo Hills bordering Assam and Meghalaya. It is spread over 190 hectares of area of wetland covered with unique bio-diversity. Of that area due to the rich bio-diversity of the area and the abundance of flora and fauna, Chandubi beelhas the distinction of featuring in the prestigious Bird-life International “Important Bird Area” List and also full filling of Ramsar Convention’s Ramsar sites (A wetland of international importance ). It is situated in the limit of 91⁰25’E and 25⁰52’N And altitude of 70-150mtrs above sea level.

The Chandubi lake is harboring various endangered and vulnerable Species of fishes, amphibians, reptiles, bird and mammals. The Lake is bestowed with scenic natural beauty. Its chief feature is the natural lagoon that has been formed in the lake. At Chandubi, visitors can enjoy boating, bird-watching, waterfall and different culture of the indigenous people. Adding to this during the Chandubi Festival held from 1st to 5th January of every year, tourists can see a huge number of visitors and display of various cultural activities and ethnic food items.
