Umsru is situated in the district of Kamrup, west of Guwahati. It is suitable for family picnic which is 40 km from LGBI Airport, Guwahati. It is inhabited by Rabha, Garo and Khasi communities. This place is nearby Borduar Tea estate. The beauty of Umsru is its natural view which is surrounded by hills from all sides. It has attractive big streams with sparkling flowing blue water and waterfalls. The villagers are mainly cultivators and produces crops like paddy, orange, sugarcane, pineapple etc.
Kundilnagar is to the east of Chandubi, about 10 kms away. The special attraction of Kundilnagar is that the river Batha suddenly and completely goes underground for some 150 metres and then re-emerges to the surface. The word Kundil is derived from Dhundul, which means a hollow made into the ground, or mound or dam. Kundilnagar takes an eerie shape during the rainy season as there develops a huge whirlpool where the water disappears into the ground and takes decomposed woods, bamboos etc along with it.
